@j_zimms @harrisj @dansinker I guess that our cohort was collectively sifting through an enormous trashpile of boomer detritus (often literally) to construct ANYTHING that didn't have a creepy moustache or smell like aqua velva. And we didn't have any economic power so all our media looked like samizdat.
