September 2, 2009 - Breakfast
R--: No. Seriously. Get your jogging shoes, I'll get my Dodge Charger; I'll pace you from Rego Park to Midwood at 5 mph, and you can write about it on your blog.
Me: It'll be like Chariots of Fire except it lasts five minutes and ends with me gasping against a wall leaking urine
R--: The Vangelis soundtrack rudely interrupted by the Rob Schneider vrr-rut! turntable-scratch.
Me: My goal in life is to go from punchline to montage.
R--: That's a bankable line.
BMI-wise I have 150 to lose; I would say 80-100 is more realistic. That number seems less wild as time goes on, just as distances seem shorter. This morning while my water was boiling I did pushups and jogged in place, dissipating some extra energy. I asked my wife if I could go to graduate school. She said no, then said "see how you like teaching first."
