I love civic boosters. A friend of mine just told us why New Bedford, Mass, is a truly great city and I loved hearing about it (it helped that we were at the Whaling Museum). I live in NYC so I never really have to prop up the home town. Civic pride, flaws and all, is a good balm in the Right Now. ➛
