December 19, 2009 - Breakfast
Yesterday was a shitty food day, without exercise, although I did smooth over some work stresses and problems, and at around 11PM launched a new insanely complicated gift-subscription form hosted by the subscription firm in Iowa. As you know this was always my dream when I was a little boy. Anyway now I want to go see the 11AM Avatar, which will be a good way for me to stop reading about Avatar. I love big bullshit James Cameron movies. But it's nearly 10AM and it's going to snow, and I need a bike ride, too. All other showtimes will be miserable, this being NYC. That movie is four thousand hours long; I will emerge blinking from the theater into whiteout. Thus no long bike ride around the park in 21°-freezingness if I go see it, not in the storm. Which is better for me? Three hours of jolly movie funtimes, wiping my bouncy little brain totally clear? Or two hours of biking through a freezing park, leaving me peristalted and sweated? A beautiful wintry parkscene? A mysterious fantasy planet in 3D? I could wait until tomorrow to see the movie but it's PLAYING TODAY. Hobson's sword is caught between a rock and Charybdis, and the only possibility is a Pyrrhic standoff or a Mexican poison pill. I DO NOT KNOW THERE ARE TOO MANY PLEASURES TO PICK FROM. If only the movie was playing tomorrow. Oh, wait . . .
