September 20, 2009 - Bicycle ride
Up over the Williamsburg bridge both ways. So steep. So many mink hats. Then to B&N on 5th Ave. and 18th St. to buy a total of 30 lbs. of computer tomes that I would haul on my back like a nerd Sherpa. But it was not to be: the clerk informed me that some vague bylaws in the B&N code rendered my discount card invalid. That sort of stupid situation is why the Web eats the lunch of real-life stores. I rode home unencumbered by potential knowledge.
