Toy Vano is Product Manager, Postlight, and upon coming to work here was immediately hit with a pretty significant task: Launch three products in two months. Wheeeee. She writes:
I smiled, nodded my head and said, “Okay, sounds great!” but that wasn’t all the feels I was having at that moment. Of course it wasn’t. This was my first (three) big project(s) at Postlight, and I had doubts. Not only was the timeline tight, but I was brand new to the company, and I didn’t want to fail or let anyone down. I already felt miles behind everyone else in my technical abilities, and what if it came out that I just couldn’t hack it? I knew that this could very well be a make or break situation for me.
After having a few internal chicken-sans-head moments like the above, I decided I needed to channel all of these doubtful feelings into something productive. There was no way I was about to let self-doubt take me down. I went to my happy place and made a milestones spreadsheet — I mean a really pretty milestones spreadsheet.
